Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 June 2026
These Terms govern your use of StudyBuddy. By creating an account or using the service, you (and, for a student under 18, the consenting guardian) agree to these Terms.
1. What StudyBuddy is
StudyBuddy generates board-pattern practice papers, lets you write answers by hand, and uses AI to read and evaluate your uploaded answer sheets — returning per-question marks, mistakes, improvement tips and weak-topic guidance. We also provide a searchable archive that links to officially-released board papers.
2. Eligibility and guardian consent
StudyBuddy is intended for students. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide an email and explicit consent at signup; that guardian is the account holder for the purposes of these Terms and our Privacy Policy. By providing consent, the guardian confirms they are authorised to do so on the student's behalf.
3. Acceptable use
- Use the service for genuine personal exam practice only.
- Do not upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Do not upload another person's answer sheet or impersonate another student.
- Do not attempt to break, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Do not resell or redistribute generated papers or evaluations as your own product.
4. AI evaluation is an aid, not an official result
Our AI evaluation is a study aid. It is not an official board result, mark sheet, or any guarantee of your actual exam score, and it may contain errors — particularly on subjective answers, diagrams, or unclear photographs. You should not rely on it as an authoritative grade.
“I disagree with this mark” dispute path
Every evaluation includes a one-tap “I disagree with this mark” flag. When you raise it, we record your reason and review the question; where a grading error is found we correct the feedback. This is the route to challenge any mark you believe is wrong.
5. Intellectual property
For past papers, we host or link only officially-released board papers from the official board source; rights in those papers belong to the respective board. The AI-generated practice papers, marking guidance and evaluations produced for you are provided for your personal study use. The StudyBuddy software, design and brand remain ours.
6. Payments
Pro is a paid plan billed in advance for the chosen period. Pricing, billing periods and the refund window are described on our pricing page and in our Refund & Cancellation policy. Where payment processing is not yet active, we will tell you clearly and will not charge you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyBuddy is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for any reliance on AI evaluation results, including any difference between our feedback and your official board result. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms. You may stop using and delete your account at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat shall have jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable consumer rights you have under Indian law.
